Redesigned Fourwaves’ website builder to give academic organizers more flexibility without added complexity. Introduced reusable components, new content blocks, and a streamlined editing experience that makes creating professional event websites faster and easier.

I’m Tamara Laforest, a product designer from Gaspésie with 13+ years of experience creating digital products and websites that are simple, scalable, and enjoyable to use. Outside of work, you’ll find me walking by the sea with my dog Freya or playing board games with friends.

Which design tools do you use?

My primary design tool is Figma, where I handle most of my product and interface design work. For complementary needs—such as photography, print, or video—I turn to the Adobe Creative Suite.

What’s your main focus area?

I primarily focus on UI/UX design, creating intuitive and engaging digital experiences. I also take on print and marketing projects when needed.

How do you incorporate AI into your workflow?

I primarily use AI as a support tool for writing and research, helping me move faster in the early stages of a project. When it comes to creative work, all my designs are 100% original and crafted by me.

How do you manage tight deadlines?

I’m used to fast-moving projects. I work in quick, thoughtful iterations that keep quality high without slowing progress.

How do you ensure smooth collaboration with developers and stakeholders?

I make collaboration easy by keeping everything transparent and well-organized. In Figma, I create clean files with reusable components and clear annotations, so developers can implement designs without confusion. I also keep open communication with stakeholders through regular check-ins and quick iterations, making sure everyone is aligned and decisions move forward smoothly.
